Self care is the best gift you can give yourself this season 🎁 Too often in clinic I see patients who seem older than their stated age due to their health status. I go into one room, there is a 70 year old patient who is vibrant, active, and living life to the fullest. The next room, another 70 year old patient, wheel-chair bound, having suffered multiple strokes or heart attacks, in need of assistance for many activities of daily living, just trying to get through the next min.

Fitness is a package of diet, exercise, sleep, and mindfulness. I try to incorporate these aspects daily, I’m not perfect, I miss workout days or accidently eat half a pecan 🥧 🤫. But if you can consistently bring aspects of fitness into your daily life, it can go a long way.

Age does not need to be a limitation to the things you love to do. Today, at 31 and post 1 baby, I feel more fit than I did in medical school (when, believe it or not, I had much more time to be fit!). Life will keep getting busier. At the end of training I thought I would have much more free time. While I have more control over my time, I’m still just as busy in a different way. Don’t keep waiting for that point in your life when things may “slow down” because you will be waiting for a long time. Start today!

This photo was snapped at 6:00 AM this morning, tired eyes (random toddler sleep regressions), and a sore throat (yay toddler germs). I got some movement in today, did you? ✌🏽



PS: Toddlers love youtube exercise videos- try them out together with your little one next time! Mine loves the 10 min ab one. 🤣
