Is that a bathroom selfie? Yep. Best lighting ➡️couldn’t resist snapping a pic.
Reflecting today on 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐲, something I’ve been trying to teach my toddler daughter. What if we spent as much time working on our ‘inner selves’ as we did our outer appearance?
𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 is one way to create a healthier internal image of ourselves. I don’t mean standing and staring at yourself in the mirror in a narcissistic kind of way. But loving yourself, really being able to be by yourself in silence and in stillness.
Spending most of my day breastfeeding has forced me to “stay still” and helped me reflect and meditate. I’ve started meditating for 15 minutes everyday and I’ve noticed it’s had a positive mental influence as well as physical. Mentally, I’ve noticed I feel more grounded and at peace. Physically, I’ve noticed more breast milk production- sounds weird but there is actually something called the Fehrer method for increasing your milk supply through practicing mediation (based on a study done in moms with preterm infants in the NICU). Talk about mind-body connection -right?
Take home point: self love comes in different forms- one way I’ve found of increasing your internal love and beauty is through meditation and self reflection daily 💕
Thanks @randdiabmd for inviting me to #chooseselflove . Have you tried meditation?👇🏽
